Most two-bedroom villas are located in the part of the Westin property known as the "hill villas". They are "hill" villas because they are located on a hillside overlooking the main Westin resort area where the main pool, the beach and the restaurants are located. This location provides impressive views of Grand Cruz Bay from the villa balconies and views to the west for great sunsets. Each hillside villa building is adjacent to a 600 sq ft pool with a waterfall equipped with chaise lounges, floats, umbrella tables and gas grilles. The view from the pool is very photogenic -- a great spot for a quiet morning, afternoon or evening. If you want a more lively pool scene, you can go down the hill to the resorts main pool of 1/4 acre. The main resort area is an approximate 8-minute walk -- or you can use the free "iguana" trolley that comes every 15 minutes and goes to every area of the resort. We often walk down and sometimes ride back if the sun is hot. All of the interiors of the hillside villas have been completely renovated (at great expense) in 2010 -- so they are all fresh and new. We don't have pictures of all of the different types yet, but look at the pictures of the studio villa and you will get an idea of what the new decor is like for all since they used the same general theme for all. The two-bedroom villas are approximately 1150 sq ft and comfortably sleep 6 to 8 persons. They can accomodate two couples; two families with small children; or a single family with as many as 6 children. In addition to the standard villa amenities, each villa has a 3 full baths and 2 private bedrooms. The bedrooms are reached via a central staircase dramatically lit by a large dormer window. The central staircase separates the two bedrooms to provide a high level of privacy. Each bedroom has it's own full bath, color TV and ample closet. Each bedroom features a California king bed equipped with the Westin "Heavenly Bed" sleep system of high quality mattress, linens, pillow and duvet. The living room has a sofa which converts to a queen bed. The downstairs full bath gives those sleeping in the living room an extra measure of privacy and convenience. The balcony is furnished and is a great spot for breakfast or a romantic evening cocktail overlooking Great Cruz Bay. If you are an early riser, bring your binoculars and you can often see cruise ships positioning themselves for an early morning entry into the St Thomas harbor. There is also a large color TV in the living room area with a VCR and/or a DVD player as well as a CD player and AM/FM radio -- so bring your favorite CDs. There is a fully equipped kitchen -- so you can dine in or out. We haven't done it yet, but Mary says you could cook a turkey dinner in the villa kitchens.
